Description
Currently, the town of Alcohuaz has 2 high altitude vineyards, one specializing in reds and the other in whites and late harvest. The first and highest is Viñedos de Alcohuaz, one of the 100 best vineyards in the world, in the hands of the winemaker Marcelo Retamal, they create high-end reds, with great personality and character. And on the other hand, we have Viñedo Piuquenes, specializing in late harvest and white wine, where the Pedro Jimenez strain stands out (traditionally used to make Piscos).
This tour starts from our Tourism Agency and Restaurant, with a gentle downhill trek suitable for the whole family. It lasts approximately 30 minutes, where a beautiful view of the Valley stands out, as well as the Guide’s narrative of the characteristics of the Terroir and Wines of Alcohuaz, until reaching the Piuquenes Vineyard, where we start tasting white wine. Then we walk 10 minutes until we reach the Alcohuaz Vineyard where we will taste the best wines from the Elqui Mountains.
Then the return can be planned by trekking or by vehicle.
