Description
This trekking visits the most emblematic Cordilleran Lagoon of the Elqui Valley, La Laguna El Cepo located in the heart of Cochihuaz.
Like all treks, this trekking starts at dawn with a transfer from the accommodation to the beginning of the hike, at the end of the public road in the Colorado sector. From there, you walk approximately 5 hours through the beautiful Cochihuaz River Valley until you reach Quebrada del Cepo. From here, we have to make the last climb up a sandy slope that makes you work your temper and really earn after approximately 2 hours the impressive view of our final destination. El Cepo is a dream lagoon surrounded by native flora and fauna and golden and white granite rocks. It looks like a semi-desert garden created by the hand of a bonsai expert, but with an incredible view and one of the most translucent and dark skies on the planet. Millions of stars will illuminate the camp and depending on the dates we will be able to see the passage of constellations, planets and stars.
The next day we contemplate the sunrise while enjoying an exquisite country breakfast, before packing our luggage and setting off on our way back with our souls filled with the exquisite energy that emanates from this unique and magical destination in the Valley.
